Tracing the origins and development of CTCA as an Afrocentric educational approach
The Culturo-Techno-Contextual Approach (CTCA) was pioneered in 2015 by Professor Peter A. Okebukola to address gaps in traditional teaching methodologies. Recognizing that many educational frameworks lacked cultural relevance, Okebukola designed CTCA to integrate cultural elements, technological resources, and contextual understanding directly into the learning process. CTCA’s primary goal is to make learning more engaging, relatable, and accessible, particularly in diverse and culturally rich environments. Since its inception, CTCA has been successfully applied in both STEM and non-STEM fields, providing educators with a comprehensive model for improving student engagement and retention.
